What does it mean to sow a seed of faith? Are you sowing spiritual and financial seeds? If you are, you may want to consider naming the seed you are planting. This is, of course, if you want to have the best results. It may sound strange, but if you think about it, it makes sense. We’re going to talk about how to sow seeds spiritually, so keep reading!

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7

When Our Lord and Savior created this world, He gave us seeds. One of the reasons being is that Jehovah commanded all living things to multiply or to replicate its kind. Therefore, God created each living creature and thing so that a mature form could produce an embryo. (Genesis 1:11-12 and Genesis 1:29)

Then, He ordained a time to seed and a time to harvest.

What Kind of Seed are You Sowing?

It’s natural that we reproduce our kind. In this respect, sowing spiritual and financial seeds should be second nature. When we sow seeds, we should get the fruit of the seed we plant. It could be  a faith seed that will produce actions, money, or beliefs, we should reap what we plant. In short, if you plant a lemon tree, you should harvest lemons. It’s the same with anything you plant or sow.

Yes, actions are also seeds.

Some people may be new to this and wonder what does sowing seeds mean? The Bible clearly states that when you give, you can expect to have it given back to you. I personally can testify to this. Given freely, I have received the same time I gave away, but only when it returned to me, it was better.

However, you shouldn’t just give in order that you receive. Sometimes, you won’t get your blessings right away so if you’re giving to get something, you are doing it for the wrong reasons. You should sow spiritual and financial seeds because of your love for God and the people around you. You’re honoring God when you give, especially to those who are not as fortunate as yourself. But when you give to God’s people, you can expect a special gift in return.

What happens when you sow specifically for money? Does that mean you only get money back?

“A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry; but money answers everything.” Ecclesiastes 10:19

Although we trade with money, it has very little value. If your refrigerator is bare, then you need the money to buy groceries. You use money in order to get what is of value. Think about it. You use the currency to pay your electric bill, mortgage note, to get food and entertainment. It’s just a means of exchange, but money is the answer to all things. And if it is the answer to everything, then what is it you want your money to do?

If you’re giving a gift of money, then you should tell the money what’s it’s for. You may want to bless someone who needs rent assistance or money for car repairs to get back and forth to work. It’s also a good idea to learn how to pray over your seed!

Sowing Good Seeds in Your Life

When you start sowing spiritual and financial seeds, give freely! Don’t hold back because God has a blessing for you. When you sow a seed, it should multiply in your favor. So, be generous and cheerful. Help your neighbors when in need, even the ones you don’t like. Remember, when you give, you must name your seed and tell it what to become! It is because of God that you have this ‘overflow’ in the first place, so share it.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
