Well, it would seem that Tamar is not on the set of “The Real,” anymore. She and Vince are getting a divorce after nine years. She says that working and living together was a bit much.
They are still friends, however, but she’s made the decision to cut her hair. And that’s okay… we all do it but Tamar didn’t just get a trim.
Just days before her March 17 birthday, Tamar took a big chunk off and her baldness has everyone in shock. Did you catch the Instagram posts?
But you know when a woman changes her hairdo, she’s getting ready to make some changes in her lifestyle. In her case, Tamar Braxton had an awful lot of stress so I guess, the cut matches the dissatisfaction in both her personal relationships and her professional life.
With this said, however, I knew it wouldn’t be long after the appearance of Black Panther that more Black women would eventually find the courage to cut their hair to reflect Lupita Nyong’o’s style. I did the big shave back in Adina Howard’s day and it was truly liberating.
But this is nothing like the decision she made a couple of years ago to return to school. I wonder what Michelle Obama has to say about Tamar’s cut? Mrs. Obama was instrumental in Tamar’s decision to go back to school, so where was she last night?
T.D. Jakes was there for Tamar and her sisters recently and even offered his blunt opinions. He felt Tamar was more fixed on “looking for someone to clap for her, instead of clapping for herself.” The family has had a relationship with the minister for a long time now.
Way Before Tamar’s Big Chop
When she was a little girl, Tamar knew she’d be a star one day. Well, sure enough… Tamar Braxton has done it. She’s proved her fantasies true. Tamar sings, writes, and produces.
Would you be surprised if I told you at the young age of 12, Tamar was doing background work for her older sister, Toni? She was! However, she would not stay in the background forever.
Tamar Braxton and Her Come Up
Tamar has several hits on her own as a recording artist and has rubbed elbows with the best of the best. LaShawn Daniels, who Tamar co-wrote ballads with, collaborated with the likes of Michael Jackson, Usher, Rihanna and Whitney Houston.
In fact, it was Whitney who encouraged Tamar to pursue singing. I mean, what a compliment coming from Ms. Houston, right! Tamar Braxton was 14 at the time. Wow!
Have you seen the reality show Braxton Family Values (2011) or the spin-off, Tamar and Vince? Ratings hit the roof for the show as the network’s highest-rated TV show.
Although there were a lot of people who engaged in the show, Ms. Braxton gained even more airplay with the The Real as a co-host. On top of that, she produced the number one talk show on FOX.
Most people engage enough with the Braxton family and find Tamar Braxton to be the loudest. They are all very different from each other and Tamar’s haircut proves it. However, if you look deeper into her soul, you’ll find a woman who wants or needs to be heard and accepted.
Apparently, it’s a record-breaking series as no one topped the ratings as a test-show. Tamar reveals that her life has not been what she expected – “I’m a perfect example of God having another plan for me than what I had in mind.”
Time Off for Tamar Braxton
The beautiful Tamar Braxton was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. What this means is she had a few blood clots, but not any ordinary blood clot. These were located in her lungs.
Tamar Braxton was faced with the reality of life and death and she seriously needed to have surgery soon. Thank goodness the procedure went well and she is much better now. Having her family for support meant the world to her.
As you may remember she was working when Braxton got the news. Regrettably, she was not able to finish the season on Dancing with the Stars because of her illness.
Do you know about her fashion line, Get Your Life (2012) or her book, “Love and War?”
I have certainly heard about it. However, Tamar says her “music truly reflects who I am.” With that being said, it’s safe to say Tamar Braxton is a force to be reckoned with when she sets a goal.
“I’m over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings,” she captioned a photo of her new look. “WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY”
So, what do you think about Tamar Braxton’s decision to shave her head? Her reason for doing it? Let me know what’s Tamar Braxton doing now below.
