Castor oil remedies for the skin and hair
Castor oil remedies are inexpensive and they work!

Castor Oil remedies – ugh! Growing up, I always regretted telling my mom I couldn’t “go.” I already knew what she was going to say… “Castor oil for constipation, too.” Only she’d call it “cast’ oil,” and if you’re country or have kinfolk from the south, you know what I’m talking about.

They had 99 castor oil uses but speech wasn’t one. Nonetheless, it was the answer to all of life’s problems. Long ago, the elders trusted castor oil remedies because spas and dermatologists weren’t as popular as they are now.

Not surprisingly, many of these old wive’s cures sound really weird, but they worked!

As an adult, I find myself telling my children the same thing mother told me – “use the castor oil!” If you run out of conditioner, use the castor oil. If you have arthritic pains, stomach gripes or have a wing worm… the answer is still the same.

Beauty uses for Castor Oil

1. Anti-Aging

Castor oil slows the signs of aging and prevents the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines.

Are you concerned with aging at all? My mother believed in the power of castor oil remedies for a woman’s skin and at 84, she doesn’t have any wrinkles to speak of (fine lines) and she looks twenty years younger.

It’s incredible. All she did was dab a little on her fingers and rub it in. She did this every single night and day. Castor oil goes deep within the layers of the skin and stimulates hydration, collagen, and elastin. My mother’s skin is soft and as smooth as a baby’s.

However, people with oily skin should shy away from adding more oil to their skin. You want to prevent blocking your pores and the presence of acne but do use castor oil for eyelashes. Yes, it makes them long, thick and pretty!

2. Depresses Acne

Acne is not exclusive to young adults. As a matter of fact, mature adults still suffer from breakouts, more so if they have oily skin and apply other oils on top of it. That’s a big no-no. However, castor oil, my friends, is different.

It has anti-bacterial properties so it works with you instead of against you. Let me tell you how to use castor oil as an astringent.

  • Using warm water, wash your face. Warm water will help to open pores.
  • Massage in a circular motion with the castor oil.
  • Wear overnight and wash off in the morning with cool water

Uses for Castor Oil on skin

Put moisture back after the brutal weather dries your skin out. After winter is gone, we need to add moisture back into our skin. As a low-cost remedy for reviving dry skin, castor oil remedies are your best options. Castor oil helps to revitalize your skin, making it irresistibly kissable.

  • Clean your face well or use a gentle scrub
  • Massage the oil over your face, using short, round motions
  • Add a few drops to your tub for all over moisturizing

3. Soothes inflamed skin

Stayed too long in the sun, did you? Not hard to get sunburn when you enjoy the outdoors or the ocean. Need relief? Here’s what you do –

Gather the castor oil and a cotton ball. Wet the ball with the castor oil, apply to inflamed skin, dry skin or acne and leave on for approximately an hour before washing away.

4. Reduce the appearance of blemishes

Castor oil is used to fade skin blemishes and scarring although, the results won’t take place overnight but gradually. In light of this, you should not discontinue using the oil in this regard, providing you want striking results.

5. Prevents stretch marks

Not only does castor oil remedies induce labor but it helps prevent stretch marks. Isn’t it awful what having babies can do to our skin? Babies stretch the skin to abnormal sizes and then leave us hanging. But if you don’t want stretch marks, get the castor oil!

You’ll have fewer stretch marks if any. How? The fatty acids help the skin maintain its elasticity, especially during the last couple of months of the term. Where to buy castor oil? Amazon, of course!

6. Castor oil remedies for hair, scalp, and dandruff

Castor oil brings the life back into natural hair while adding inches and depth.

Annoyed with dandruff flacks and itchy, dry scalp? You know what to do – try castor oil remedies for its antibacterial and antifungal therapy. Some people say to put it on bald spots or thinning hair. Yeah… if it’s that good, I wonder what it’ll do for my gray hair.

7. Premature gray hair

You don’t have to be my age to have gray hair – it can happen early in life and while the trend was to wear gray hair, not everyone wants that hair color. Castor oil stops all that madness. Use the oil… lose the grays. Rub some on your scalp and massage well to touch on hair follicles.

8. Castor oil remedies for hair growth

Want more inches or beautiful, long hair? Try the castor oil remedies my mom uses. She swears by the black castor oil to grow hair. Just massage into your scalp and you’ll see your hair grow longer and get thicker before your very eyes.

Castor oil will boost the blood flow to the hair follicles and because of Omega 9 benefits, you’ll see less split ends and hair damage overall.

9. Natural Conditioner

Is your hair damaged? Is it dry and lifeless? Try the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Conditioner. It will treat all of your hair and bring it back to life, but even better than before. It will be soft and shiny like it’s supposed to be.

If you want to pour your own mixture, all you need to do is mix together a teaspoon of pure castor oil and your preferred leave-in conditioner and you’re done. You do everything as normal.

Castor Oil remedies: Conclusion

Believe it or not, castor oil is a veggie oil that originates from India and Africa. Now, manufacturers are adding the cure-all in cosmetics, massage oils, and soaps. Do you know why you should be using cast’ oil? I mean, castor oil remedies are not that bad after all.
